Yesterday I was carousing around Philly with a friend of mine and I was taking pictures and I stuck my Ricoh in my backpack (instead of the camera bag at my waiste) and at some point we found an outdoor café and sat down for a game of chess and a few rounds of set. I must have not been careful when putting down my backpack because when we were walking later I saw something (I was shooting slide film at the time) that would look really good on cross-processed film and I took out my camera and he said look! and I wasnt looking because I was trying to get it to focus and then I looked and the cover lens was cracked and I said oh thats ok. Ill just have to buy a new one that doesnt cost much. BUT then I realized that the focus part of the lens was jammed in on one side and it was sideways so it couldnt move. I sat there for several moments in silence but since my friend was there, I wasnt really sad but the point is:
I dont have much money and Ive been beating up my Ricoh way too much
(also I stepped on the door of the body of the camera once and I have to use tape to hold it tight so the film doesnt get exposed.)
Film hasnt been good to me: always breaking in the camera and stuff.
Maybe I should forget photography and go back to painting all the time.
Does anyone have any suggestions on other (cheap) SLR film cameras? I need something that will never go out of style, thats partially why I havent gone digital.
[link]I will never put my camera in my backpack and will always keep it around my neck or in the camera bag that I cradle like a baby if I ever have to run so help me god.

i like the one of yours called "untitled for now", with the arm. the way the bone structure pops out is striking, and the colors complement each other well. did you process the color negatives yourself? (its a whole art within itself... i've taken a class on it before)
